"I was excited to try some delicious authentic Jamaican food, however I was left a bit underwhelmed. Firstly, I loved the interior and the decorations were really nice, but the music was too loud. When I went to order, almost every item I asked for on the menu, they weren't able to make due to not having the ingredients I guess. I decided to get the jerked salmon and a Mac & cheese on the side. The food was great. The mac & cheese absolutely hit the spot, and the salmon was also quite good. I want to give this place another chance so I can try more of the delicious looking menu."

"The inside is now all painted a dull gray. No vibrant color like depicted in previous photos posted at this time (now all gray on 22Oct25) I Was So Hungry Oxtail, Red Bean & Rice with Cabbage nice and Tasty They Were Cooking Up A Storm! Because It Got Smokey In There! It Was Smelling Good So I Kept Eating! When I Arrived Over A 30 Minute Time: 3 Peeps Were Dining-In, and 9 Peeps Came In For Take-Out Orders. One of Which Was A State Trooper. Staff very nice. Jamaican Music videos playing on TV on wall in dining area."

"I have heard about Hummingbird for a while from coworkers. They continually tell me to go try it because they have good Jamaican food. I finally dropped by while in Trenton on business. I come into the place and the Reggie was playing( not blasting so loudly that I had to shout my order...some places need to take note)it didn't seem forced or fake like the atmosphere in a some restaurants. I ordered a large oxtail dinner with cabbage, rice and peas and I got a side of plantains. The "Chadwick Boseman look alike" behind the counter insisted I get the medium dinner. Who am I to disagree with the Black Panther? The medium was a lot of food. Prince T'Challa was correct, I would not have been able to eat anymore than the medium. The oxtail were very good. It's a dish that I only recently had for the first time at The Big Easy, also in Trenton New Jersey. The cabbage was really good. I've had Jamaican style cabbage twice and it taste like it was made differently both times and was delicious both times. I didn't enjoy the plantains, I like sweet plantains. These were good but I prefer the sweet ones. All in all. It was a good meal, the price was not as expensive as other Jamaican food in the area, the amount of food was plentiful. I recommend Hummingbird to anyone wanting to enjoy Jamaican food without taking out a payday loan."

"Rating: 4/10 The oxtails were mediocre, the mac and cheese lacked seasoning, and the cabbage was just okay. Paid $26 for a medium plate."

"I purchased food yesterday for lunch. I was tired of eating in the cafeteria of my office. I looked up this local gem and ohhhh boy it did not disappoint. I am from Brooklyn and I too am Jamaican so I know a good hand. I ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage. The food was so darn good and the portions are so big!!! Loved it!! It was so good I went back for the BBQ jerk chicken and a side Mac and cheese!!!!!!!! Y'all gotta give them a try. I don't even live in Trenton and will drive this 40 minute drive for this when I am not at work! It was good!"
